Personal Assistant for a child with special needs
£14 per hourPart-time
A calm and caring Personal Assistant is required for a happy and sensitive 8-year-old girl who lives in the Saltash area.
She has complex developmental conditions, mobility issues and is non-verbal. She would like someone who she can build up a positive relationship with and provide her with some 1:1 support. She would like someone to support her with her increasing mobility and day-to-day needs. She loves being outdoors in playgrounds, beaches and woodlands. A personal assistant will enable her to enjoy activities in her local community with her family. Good rate of pay at £14 per hour.6 hours per week are available, although this is very flexible.
The parents would like to use 4 hours per week, using the remainder during the school holidays.
Car driver not required for this role. Some knowledge or personal experience of working with young people with special educational needs is essential.
The successful applicant will be employed under a private arrangement with the family and not be employed or carry out work for Cornwall Council. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All offers of employment will be subject to the successful candidate undertaking an enhanced DBS check, the administration process will be undertaken by Cornwall Council.
