Band 7 Macmillan Review Radiographer (Therapeutic)
The closing date is 13 October 2026
Job Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Macmillan Review Radiographer (Therapeutic) to join our radiotherapy team. You will play a key role in delivering specialist, radiographer-led support for patients receiving radiotherapy across a range of tumour sites. Working within agreed governance frameworks and scope of practice, you will assess and manage treatment-related side effects, escalate concerns appropriately, and provide holistic information and support to patients and carers throughout the pathway.
We are also pleased to consider applicants who are not yet able to fully evidence the essential Band 7 criteria, through a supported Band 6 to Band 7 development pathway. Progression to Band 7 will be subject to successful completion of the agreed competencies, training and education requirements, and demonstration of the knowledge, skills and experience needed for the substantive Band 7 role.
If you are passionate about delivering compassionate, patient-centred radiotherapy care and are ready to develop your specialist practice, we would love to hear from you.
Provisional interview dates - Tuesday 15th Sept and Thursday 17th Sept
Subject to AFC job matching
Main duties of the job
- You will deliver radiographer-led review clinics for patients receiving radiotherapy and chemoradiotherapy.
- You will manage a defined caseload, assessing side effects, identifying risks and escalating concerns appropriately.
- You will provide specialist advice, information and emotional support to patients and carers throughout the radiotherapy pathway.
- You will complete accurate documentation, toxicity scoring, treatment summaries, referrals and discharge information.
- You will contribute to pathway coordination, service improvement, audit, governance, education, Macmillan reporting and late effects support.
Why Work With Us
Our Radiotherapy Department provides patient-centred, technically advanced and compassionate care for people affected by cancer. As a small and supportive team, we work closely across professional groups to deliver high-quality care throughout the radiotherapy pathway. Staff often comment on the kindness within the department and the close working relationships that make it a welcoming and collaborative place to work. You will be part of a team that values personalised care, proactive toxicity management, education, quality improvement and continuity for patients and carers.
