Lead Veterinary Surgeon - 4-Day Week - Excellent Clinical Autonomy
£65k - £80k per annumAn exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Lead Veterinary Surgeon to join a progressive small animal practice in Cambridgeshire . This role is ideal for a vet who enjoys a mix of clinical work and leadership, offering the chance to shape the direction of a busy, well-equipped clinic while being part of a supportive regional network.
The Opportunity
You’ll lead a talented clinical team, ensuring the delivery of outstanding veterinary care while supporting and mentoring colleagues. This role combines hands-on clinical work with leadership responsibilities, providing an excellent balance for vets who thrive in both areas.
The position offers variety, autonomy, and the opportunity to work in a modern setting with access to advanced diagnostic and surgical equipment. You’ll have the support of an experienced Practice Manager and a wider clinical network dedicated to collaboration and best practice.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the clinical team to deliver exceptional patient and client care.
Oversee day-to-day practice operations alongside the Practice Manager.
Support, mentor, and develop team members to help them reach their full potential.
Manage a varied caseload, performing both consultations and surgeries.
Ensure high clinical and professional standards are maintained across the team.
Contribute to the ongoing development and success of the practice.
About You
MRCVS-qualified Veterinary Surgeon with leadership experience.
Strong communicator with a passion for mentoring and teamwork.
Confident in general practice with solid surgical and medical skills.
Commercially aware and motivated to drive clinical and business excellence.
Committed to providing the highest level of care to patients and clients.
Working Pattern
4-day working week for excellent work-life balance.
1-in-6 Saturday rota shared across a local network of practices.
Part-time options can be discussed.
