Head of Learning Enhancement / Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator (SENDCo)

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Head of Learning Enhancement/SENDCo to join our team. This role is vital in ensuring that children with special educational needs and disabilities receive tailored support to help them achieve their full potential.

Position: Head of Learning Enhancement / SENDCo
Location : Skippers Hill Manor Preparatory School, UK

Key Responsibilities:

● Oversee the identification, assessment, and provision for pupils with special educational needs,

disabilities, or specific learning differences.

● Maintain clear, practical Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) / Pupil Passports, collaborating with teachers

to embed effective differentiated strategies.

● Serve as the primary contact for parents regarding learning support, fostering open, positive

partnerships.

● Coordinate internal screeners and liaise effectively with visiting specialists (e.g., educational

psychologists, speech and language therapists).

● Track and monitor pupil progress to evaluate the impact of interventions.

● Run and expand our offer of services for children

Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum two years’ experience working with children who have SEND.
- Strong understanding of current legislation relating to special educational needs and disabilities.
- Excellent communication skills with ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
- Ability to assess pupil needs accurately and develop personalised learning plans.
