Principal Archaeological Consultant Location: Hybrid, York Type: Permanent, Full-Time My client, a leading multidisciplinary environmental and planning consultancy, is seeking a Principal Archaeological Consultant to join its growing Historic Environment team. Key Responsibilities
- Lead archaeological and heritage consultancy projects across a range of development sectors.
- Prepare and review heritage assessments, desk-based assessments, and EIA heritage chapters.
- Advise clients on planning, archaeology, and heritage matters.
- Manage archaeological fieldwork, consultants, budgets, and programmes.
- Liaise with planning authorities, stakeholders, and project teams.
- Mentor junior team members and support business development activities.
- Degree in Archaeology, Heritage, or a related discipline.
- Significant consultancy and/or commercial archaeology experience.
- Strong knowledge of UK planning policy and heritage legislation.
- Proven project management and technical reporting skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
