About the Role

As the Registered Manager, you will have day-to-day responsibility for the leadership and running of a residential home supporting adults with learning disabilities and complex needs within Ravenswood Village.
You will lead with visibility, compassion and accountability, creating an environment where people are supported to live meaningful, fulfilling lives with choice, independence and belonging.
Working within a values-led and regulated environment, you will ensure the service is safe, compliant and high performing, while also creating a warm and homely environment for the people who live there.
This role requires registration under the Health and Social Care Act (2008) and offers the opportunity to lead a committed team within one of the UK's leading providers of support for people with neurodevelopmental disabilities.
Your Day to Day
You will:
- Lead the day-to-day running of the residential home
- Ensure high-quality, person-centred support is consistently delivered
- Promote Active Support and lifelong learning approaches
- Support people to make choices, manage risk positively and live fulfilling lives
- Lead, coach and develop Deputy Managers, Team Leaders and Support Workers
- Oversee recruitment, supervision, performance and staff development
- Ensure compliance with CQC regulations, safeguarding and health & safety requirements
- Monitor budgets, resources and overall service performance
- Work collaboratively with families, professionals and internal support services
- Maintain accurate reporting, records and regulatory documentation
- Drive continuous improvement and service quality across the home
Qualifications, Training & Experience
You will bring:
- Experience within residential care services, including leadership or supervisory responsibility
- Experience supporting adults with learning disabilities and complex needs
- Strong understanding of person-centred approaches and risk management
- Knowledge of CQC standards, safeguarding and relevant legislation
- Strong leadership, coaching and people management skills
- Experience managing staff performance and service delivery
- Ability to work confidently under pressure and make balanced decisions
- Good IT and administrative skills
It would strengthen your application if you have:
- NVQ Level 5 in Health & Social Care or RNLD qualification
- Experience managing regulated residential services
- Experience leading change and service improvement
- Knowledge of Active Support and Systematic Instruction
- Experience supporting transitions into supported living

A bit more information: The Elms is a large two-storey house within the Ravenswood Estate, home to seven residents aged in their 60s and 70s with mild to moderate neurodevelopmental disabilities, including learning disabilities, and additional needs such as autism, epilepsy, cerebral palsy, dementia, and mobility challenges. Most residents are verbal, using clear speech, facial expressions, or visual prompts to communicate.
Residents enjoy a relaxed, social lifestyle with hobbies including arts and crafts, knitting, music, TV, and trips to coffee shops. Some are sociable; others prefer a quieter routine. The house includes self-contained flats, a dedicated arts room, and a garden with countryside views.
Support is provided 24/7 with a 3-week rota pattern and most shifts running 07:00 to 21:00. As with all Norwood services, the people we support lead the way, the rota flexes to fit their needs, not the other way around. You'll be joining a stable and values-led team committed to Kindness, Respect, Belonging, and Empowerment.
