Mechanical Engineer

Main duties

• To undertake mechanical repairs, maintenance tasks and minor installations of mechanical equipment.
• To undertake planned maintenance activities and repairs on all mechanical equipment.
• Experience working with pipework, & filters desirable but not essential.
• Able to diagnose and repair simple and complex issues on various mechanical systems.
• Ability to produce permit to work/risk assessments as required
• Identify and action any faults/remedial works
• Use handheld technology effectively to carry out all tasks
• Assist other team members when required or as directed from Operations Supervisor/Contract Manager
• Ensure that all tasks are completed within the contractual time scales.
• Working with visiting sub-contractors with regards to standard of work and Health and Safety
• All duties carried out in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• To understand and complete all work-related documentation accurately and on time.
• To forge and maintain excellent customer relations with on-site clients at all times
• To carry out work in a safe and diligent manner
• To comply with all Health and Safety policies and procedures
• To attend and fully participate in training and appraisal activities as required
• To undertake additional duties in line with capabilities as required
• Be available to carry out necessary works outside normal hours with additional remuneration.
• Be willing to participate in an on-call rota

Person Specification

• Qualified to City & Guilds Level or equivalent in relevant disciplines to role

Mechanical Experience – Working In Commercial Environments

• Experience of maintenance, testing & fault finding on a variety of equipment
• Including, pumps and mechanical drive systems
• Knowledge of Health & Safety and safe working practices.
• Strong customer care focus.
• Good communication skills.
• Proactive
• Able to anticipate and/or diagnose and repair faults
• Capable of completing essential paperwork in accurate and timely manner.
