Together, our divisions employ more than 2,500 people and support over 400 clients nationwide, delivering essential property repairs, maintenance, refurbishment, decarbonisation and building safety services that keep homes and public buildings operating at their best. Each year we complete over 400,000 repairs, helping to keep tenants safe, properties performing and owners fully compliant. The Role We’re looking for a proactive and organised Sustainability Advisor to support the delivery of our sustainability strategy and environmental commitments. Working with colleagues, clients, suppliers and community partners, the Sustainability Advisor will help improve environmental performance, monitor sustainability data and support practical initiatives across carbon, waste, biodiversity and environmental compliance. You’ll also support our ISO 14001 environmental management system, provide sustainability information for bids and client requests, and engage colleagues through training, communications and volunteering opportunities. Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of Axis CLC’s sustainability strategy, action plans and client commitments.
  • Support with collection, validation and reporting sustainability data, including carbon, energy and waste performance.
  • Monitor sustainability KPIs, identify performance gaps and support improvement actions.
  • Help develop and deliver carbon, energy and waste-reduction initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve resource efficiency, recycling and circular-economy practices.
  • Coordinate biodiversity, environmental volunteering and community initiatives.
  • Support environmental audits, compliance checks and the ongoing maintenance of ISO 14001.
  • Provide practical sustainability advice to operational teams, clients and other stakeholders.
  • Develop engaging toolbox talks, training materials and sustainability communications.
  • Provide accurate sustainability information for bids, tenders, client questionnaires and case studies.
  • Maintain clear and accurate records, evidence and action trackers.
  • Keep up to date with relevant environmental legislation, standards and industry good practice.
About You
  • Good knowledge of sustainability and environmental management.
  • Experience collecting, analysing or reporting sustainability, environmental or ESG data.
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to maintain accurate and auditable information.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to build relationships and influence internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage several priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Confident using Microsoft 365, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Teams.
  • A relevant degree, professional qualification or equivalent practical experience.
  • Knowledge of carbon reporting, waste, biodiversity, social value or ISO 14001 would be beneficial.
  • ISO 14001 internal auditor training or environmental auditing experience would be advantageous.
  • Willingness to travel across the UK when required.
