FX Trade Support Analyst - London

About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a FX Trade Support Analyst to work for our client within the Financial Services sector. This is initially a 6-12- month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role that will be based in London.

Our client is seeking an FX Trade Support Analyst to join its Foreign Exchange Trade Support Group (TSG) within ISG Product Operations. This team plays a critical role in supporting FX trading activity, acting as the key link between Front Office trading desks and operational support functions to ensure trades are processed accurately, risks are mitigated, and operational controls are maintained.

The successful candidate will work closely with FX Sales and Trading teams, supporting a diverse client base including corporate clients, hedge funds, central banks, asset managers, prime brokerage clients, and other business units across the firm

Key Responsibilities

• Provide end-to-end support for FX trading activity, ensuring accurate trade capture and processing throughout the trade lifecycle.
• Act as the first line of defence for trading desk operational and franchise risk.
• Monitor and resolve issues relating to trade bookings, allocations, funding, NDF closeouts, give-ups, and trade exceptions.
• Ensure Front Office and Back Office systems accurately reflect executed trades and reconcile with counterparties.
• Liaise daily with Sales, Trading, Settlements, Confirmations, Controllers, Technology, and other operational teams to investigate and resolve trade breaks.
• Escalate and manage operational risk issues in a timely and controlled manner.
• Maintain and enforce existing operational controls and procedures.
• Partner with Technology and Project teams to enhance Straight Through Processing (STP), improve infrastructure, and implement new controls.
• Contribute ideas and initiatives that improve efficiency, reduce operational risk, and strengthen the overall control environment.

Desirable Experience

• Previous experience within Foreign Exchange (FX) Trade Support, Middle Office, Operations, or a related financial markets environment.
• Understanding of OTC derivatives and the regulatory landscape affecting financial markets.
• Knowledge of trade lifecycle management and post-trade processing.
• Experience with Bloomberg, Reuters, Harmony, and Microsoft Office applications. Awareness of industry initiatives aimed at improving operational efficiency and controls.
