Temporary until 1 June 2029Refuse and Recycling are looking for 6 Waste Operations Support Officers to work in the North, South, and East of County Durham. WHAT IS INVOLVED?
You will support the delivery of sustainable waste management services across County Durham by working directly with residents, operational crews and stakeholders to improve participation, reduce contamination and resolve service issues. You will support the rollout and ongoing delivery of the council’s food waste collection service, promote high quality refuse and recycling services, and provide advice and guidance to residents in relation to waste presentation, contamination and recycling participation. - Ability to demonstrate relevant knowledge and skills gained through work experience or training.
- Experience of working directly with members of the public.
- Experience of working alongside frontline operational services.
- Experience of promoting services or delivering engagement activities to a wide range of audiences.
- Experience of dealing with customer enquiries and complaints.
