The Housing Services team has a key role in delivering safe, healthy and high-quality homes for R esidents across our  city. Through our A Place Called Home vision, we are committed to putting  R esidents at the heart of everything we do, ensuring homes are safe, affordable and sustainable and delivering services that meet and exceed R esident expectations.

As a Landlord Compliance Coordinator, you will play an important role in supporting Manchester City Council's landlord compliance and building safety functions. Whilst the post supports a range of compliance services across Housing Services, the initial focus of this role will be within the Awaabs Law team. You will provide high quality administrative and Resident focused support, helping to ensure that HHSRS  cases are managed effectively and that the Council meets its statutory responsibilities and timescales.

If you share our ambition to deliver excellent housing services, protect R esidents and ensure safe and compliant homes, we want to hear from you!

If you're successful, you'll join a dedicated team of colleagues supporting the delivery of landlord compliance and building safety services across Manchester's council housing stock. Your work will be vital in helping Housing Services meet the requirements of Awaab's Law and ensuring our R esidents receive timely, effective and resident-focused support.

You will act as a first point of contact for Awaab's Law enquiries and support requests, maintaining accurate records and compliance data, managing a busy shared inbox and ensuring key actions are completed within statutory timescales. You will coordinate activities such as no-access cases and temporary decants, issue compliance correspondence to residents, raise repair orders and appointments and work closely with colleagues, contractors and partner services to ensure cases progress efficiently.

This is a key support role that contributes directly to resident safety, regulatory compliance, service improvement and the delivery of high-quality housing services across Manchester.

For an informal discussion, please contact the hiring manager Sara Orme by email at [email protected] to arrange a convenient time to discuss the role.

About the Candidate

We would love to hear from you if you have experience of delivering high-quality administrative support in a fast-paced environment and are passionate about providing excellent customer service. You'll be highly organised, able to manage competing priorities, and committed to ensuring compliance with statutory requirements while supporting R esidents and colleagues effectively.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

  • Experience of providing administrative support within a busy service environment.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, priorities, and deadlines.
  • Experience of maintaining accurate records and databases with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce professional correspondence.
  • Experience of managing shared inboxes and responding to enquiries in a timely and customer-focused manner.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to deal sensitively and professionally with residents and stakeholders.
  • Experience of using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately.
  • Experience of monitoring actions and ensuring tasks are completed within required timescales.
  • Understanding of the importance of compliance and adherence to policies, procedures, and statutory requirements.

The experience below would be desirable requirements that would be useful in this role:

  • Experience of working within a housing, local government, or social housing environment.
  • Knowledge of Awaab's Law and the regulatory requirements relating to damp, mould, and housing condition cases.
  • Experience of coordinating appointments, access arrangements, decants, or resident support activities.
  • Experience of raising and tracking repair orders using housing management or repairs systems.
  • Experience of managing compliance trackers, performance reports, or case management systems.
  • Understanding of housing repairs, compliance, and resident safety requirements.
  • Experience of working with R esidents who may be vulnerable or require additional support.
  • Knowledge of Manchester City Council's housing services and customer service standards.
  • Experience of working collaboratively across multiple teams and services to achieve positive outcomes.

What will make you successful in this role?

You'll be proactive, solution-focused and able to maintain accuracy while working under pressure. You'll understand the importance of meeting statutory timescales, have a strong commitment to excellent customer service, and be motivated by making a positive difference to R esidents through the delivery of safe, compliant, and responsive housing services
