Role: Customs Supervisor
\nContract: Permanent
\nHours: Monday – Friday 1200-2100 or 1300-2200

\n \nPurpose Of the Role:
\nReporting to the Export Customs Manager, the Export Customs Supervisor ensures the export customs team runs efficiently, compliantly, and in line with all regulatory requirements. With a strong focus on road-freight clearances, the role is responsible for delivering a high-quality service to customers across a range of export processes. A key part of the position is supporting new team members, refining workflows, and driving continuous improvement to optimise team performance.
\n \nKey Responsibilities:
\n• Supervising the export customs team in a fast-paced environment
\n• Managing daily export operations when the Export Customs Manager is absent
\n• Providing effective customs solutions to meet service and operational deadlines
\n• Reviewing and improving processes without compromising quality
\n• Allocating tasks and overseeing daily declaration management
\n• Producing and monitoring KPIs to ensure targets are achieved
\n• Supporting the team with day-to-day issues and queries
\n• Ensuring smooth handovers between shifts
\n• Maintaining compliance with Customs, AEO, and SOP requirements
\n• Working closely with internal teams, external customers, and customs authorities (HMRC, Border Force, DEFRA)
\n• Liaising with Head Office in Kempten on customs matters when required
\n• Promoting DACHSER values and supporting staff coaching, integration, and performance
\n• Managing absence records and contributing to appraisals
\n• Upholding Health & Safety, BRC, and ISO9001 standards
\n• Supporting a proactive safety culture and ensuring all team members follow H&S practices
\n \nThe Ideal candidate will have:
\n• Minimum 2 years’ supervisory experience
\n• Awareness of global geography
\n• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
\n• Strong listening skills and ability to understand different perspectives
\n• Confident problem-solving and analytical ability
\n• Professional approach to resolving issues
\n• Good numerical and IT literacy
\n• High accuracy and attention to detail
\n• Strong customer service orientation
\n• Highly adaptable in a changing environment
