Senior Engineer

We're looking for a Senior Engineer to join our Kier Design team based in various locations. Kier Design are a highly regarded Tier 1 Contractor, with a 750 plus strong design consultancy team, recognised as a Top 30 employer on Glassdoor. Join us as a Senior Engineer and become part of one of the UK's leaders in temporary works design and management and construction-related technical services. As part of our 100-strong team, you'll get to work on hundreds of projects across one of the most diverse and high-profile portfolios in the country, with access to Kier's £11bn+ project pipeline - supporting complex construction and major infrastructure schemes from concept through to delivery.
Location: Birmingham / Bristol / Cambridge / Cardiff / Glasgow / Leeds / Liverpool / London / Manchester / Newcastle / Norwich / Plymouth - agile working, with up to 1-2 days per week from home if desired
Hours: 40 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

Are you...
An incorporated member of a relevant professional institution (e.g. IEng MICE) with demonstrable experience, or have significant experience in construction engineering
Experienced in leading the delivery of construction engineering services including temporary works design, design management, and technical assessments
Confident in managing projects, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and quality management systems
A strong communicator who enjoys building positive relationships with clients and multidisciplinary teams
Committed to continuous professional development and promoting best practice within the engineering profession

What will you be responsible for?
As a Senior Engineer, you'll be working within the engineering team, supporting them in delivering a broad range of construction engineering services. We're seeking a talented Senior Engineer to join our engineering team, where you'll lead the delivery of construction engineering services across a variety of projects. This is an opportunity to contribute to innovative solutions, support collaborative project teams, and play a key role in ensuring that our designs are safe, buildable, and meet the highest standards. You'll be working in a supportive environment where your expertise will enhance our reputation for engineering excellence, while helping to develop and mentor others in the team.
Your day to day will include:
Leading the delivery of temporary works design, tender support, alternative solutions, and design management advice across projects
Managing day-to-day workloads of engineers and technical staff, ensuring technical compliance and quality of design deliverables
Acting as the lead representative at project meetings, developing positive relationships with clients and ensuring contractual obligations are met
Overseeing the financial and commercial aspects of projects, monitoring progress against programme and budget
Providing leadership to your team, conducting performance reviews, managing workloads, and supporting the development of staff within Kier Design
