SEND Teaching Assistant

Your innate empathy, patience, and problem-solving skills will be essential as you collaborate with teachers, therapists, and parents to develop and implement tailored strategies that address the individual needs of our students.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Providing one-on-one or small-group support to students with a wide range of SEND, such as autism, learning difficulties, physical disabilities, and emotional/behavioural challenges.
• Assisting students with daily living activities, such as personal care, mobility, and communication.
• Reinforcing and extending the learning that takes place in the classroom, through engaging and interactive activities that cater to diverse learning styles.
• Collaborating with the teaching team to plan and deliver lessons that are inclusive and accessible for all students.
• Maintaining detailed records of student progress and communicating regularly with teachers and parents to ensure a holistic approach to each child's development.
• Actively participating in professional development opportunities to continually expand your knowledge and skills in supporting SEND students.

To thrive in this role, you will need to possess a genuine passion for making a difference in the lives of children, as well as a deep understanding of SEND-related challenges and strategies. Relevant qualifications, such as a teaching assistant diploma or experience working in a SEND setting, would be highly advantageous.
