SEN Teaching Assistant

Hours: Full-time, 8:30 am – 3:30 pm

Wayman Education are looking for SEND Teaching Assistants to join a friendly, supportive, and inclusive Primary school in North London . This is a long-term position working with a student who has additional learning needs and can display challenging behaviour. The school is looking for someone patient, understanding and committed to helping young people thrive.

This is a great opportunity for someone who genuinely wants to make a difference in a student’s day-to-day school experience.

What the role involves:

• Providing one-to-one support to a student with special educational needs, helping them stay engaged and feel supported in lessons.
• Building positive relationships to encourage confidence, independence, and progress.
• Supporting the class teacher with daily activities and maintaining a calm, inclusive classroom.
• Demonstrates understanding of various needs from mild to complex
• Following detailed EHCPs and working closely with the SENCO
• Work across EYFS to KS2
• Previous experience working with SEND pupils or provisions (in schools or a similar setting).
• A calm and patient approach with the ability to build trust and rapport.
• The right to work in the UK.
• An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
• Two professional references.
