Job Title: Marketing Manager, Direct to Learner
Salary: £35,200-£45,700 depending on experience
Location: Cambridge – Hybrid (2 days per week in the office)
Contract: Permanent
Hours: Full time (35 hours per week)
Do you have a passion for optimising marketing and product performance? Are you a self-starter looking for an exciting new challenge? This could be your next career move…
We are Cambridge University Press & Assessment, a world-leading academic publisher and assessment organisation and a proud part of the University of Cambridge.
We're looking for a skilled Marketing Manager who thrives in a fast-paced, start-up environment and can easily alternate between being strategic and tactical depending on the situation. You'll have the unique opportunity to join the team that manages The Cambridge Dictionary where you'll focus mainly on delivering new Direct to Learner (D2L) propositions.
About the role
As Marketing Manager, you'll work with product and editorial colleagues to help drive innovation and take products from ideation to launch. Your key responsibilities will be to:
- Develop and execute integrated marketing plans that support go-to-market strategies and maximise return on investment (ROI).
- Work closely with product teams to help define, develop, test and launch new products.
- Manage tracking and reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs) to uncover growth opportunities.
- Rigorously test hypotheses and use data to drive decisions, including implementing the necessary analytical frameworks and reporting mechanisms to measure and drive success.
- Build a broad understanding of customer needs and pain points, marketing challenges, opportunities and competitor activities.
This position has been classified as a hybrid role, requiring the selected candidate to typically spend 40-60% of their time collaborating and connecting face-to-face at their dedicated location. Aside from our hybrid principles, other flexible working requests will be considered from the first day of employment, including other work arrangements should you require adjustments due to a disability or long-term health condition.
About You
You're a qualified, adaptable marketer with experience in the direct-to-consumer space. You'll bring a strong mix of marketing communications and product marketing expertise and have a passion for solving problems. We're looking for someone with:
- A Degree or professional qualification in Marketing (or equivalent experience).
- Hands-on experience in the direct-to-consumer space developing and executing integrated, global marketing plans that support go-to-market strategies and maximise return on investment (ROI).
- Experience with HubSpot (or similar CRM tool), with deep understanding of how to use CRM strategies to optimise customer journeys for ecommerce or subscription products.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to use data and insights to influence decision making.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with strong copywriting and editing ability, and a minimum of CEFR level C2 English.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with partners, third parties and internal cross-functional teams.
- Skilled using tools such as Canva and CapCut to create marketing assets.
If you meet the above minimum requirements, we encourage you to apply. Your application will be even stronger if you can also demonstrate the following desirablecriteria:
- Experience in a product marketing role.
- Experience in growth marketing.
- Experience managing ecommerce conversion rate optimisation programmes.
- Experience in UX and web design.
- Experience using experimentation and testing tools.
