Summary

We are looking for a caring and patient individual to work as a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, supporting a child with additional needs. The role involves working closely with the class teacher and SENCo to help the child access learning, develop communication skills, and feel safe, supported, and included in the school environment.

Wage

£12,480 a year

• The apprentice will be paid the apprenticeship minimum wage for the first year

• After the first year, they will be paid at least the National Minimum Wage for their age group

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

• Provide tailored support to pupils in class and in small groups
  Support students with additional needs, including SEND and EAL
• Work alongside teachers and the SENCo to support learning plans
• Help deliver targeted interventions and booster sessions
• Assist with behaviour management and promote positive engagement
• Adapt and prepare learning materials and classroom resources
• Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to staff
• Support students during lessons, break times, and activities
• Provide general pastoral support and help with school trips

This role offers hands-on experience supporting students while developing key skills in education.

Training schedule

• Training will take place within the workplace (school setting) while completing the apprenticeship
• No college attendance required
• Apprentice will complete online learning modules alongside their role
• Monthly online webinars will be delivered as part of the training programme
• The apprentice will gain hands-on experience during their scheduled working hours while building knowledge, skills, and behaviours for the qualification
