The salary advertised is full time (35 hours per week). Part-time hours will be pro-rated accordingly.

Hourly rate of pay: £20.13 - £22.51

Early Shifts: 07:00-14:30
Late Shifts: 14:00-21:30
4 Week Rolling Rota
30 Minute Unpaid Break

Post 1 - 35 Hours per Week
Days and Times of Work:
Week 1: Monday & Tuesday Late, Wednesday & Thursday Early, Friday Late.
Week 2: Monday & Tuesday Early, Wednesday Late, Saturday Early, Sunday Late.
Week 3: Monday Early, Tuesday & Wednesday Late, Thursday & Friday Early.
Week 4: Monday & Tuesday Late, Wednesday Early, Saturday Late, Sunday Early.

Post 2 - 21 Hours per Week
Days and Times of Work:
Week 1: Monday Early, Thursday Early, Friday Late.
Week 2: Monday Early, Saturday Late, Sunday Early.
Week 3: Tuesday Early, Thursday Late, Friday Early.

Job Details

To assist in the management of the Residential Unit and contribute to the development and delivery of a high quality service to older people requiring residential care, in accordance with the values and principles of the National Care Standards, and within the policies and procedures of the Council.

Job Requirements

Relevant Qualifications
Hold an SVQ Level 3 and an HNC in Social Services (or equivalent) and be able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge, skills and competencies gained through relevant experience with the PDA health & Social Care Supervision SCQF Level 7 (or equivalent supervisory qualification which meets the professional registration requirements of SSSC or hold an SVQ Level 3 and a commitment to achieve an HNC in Social Services and the PDA Health and Social Care Supervision SCQF Level 7 (or equivalent) in the first period of registration to meet the SSSC Registration requirements.

PVG Membership
This post is considered as a Regulated Role with vulnerable children and/or protected adults, as specified in the Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020.

All preferred candidates for posts carrying out regulated work with these groups will be required to become a PVG Scheme member, or undergo a PVG Scheme update if they are already a member, prior to any formal offer of employment being made by East Lothian Council.
