Social Worker / Rehab Worker

This post is within Aberdeenshire Drug and Alcohol service and is based within the friendly team in Peterhead.  The Peterhead team support people who have or have had problematic substance use. The team is a multidisciplinary team with a range of roles including clinical staff.

We are looking for someone who can work well as part of a team but also on their own initiative. The successful candidate will provide a professional social work service to adults in Aberdeenshire, by undertaking a full range of social work duties and working collaboratively with clients who have complex needs to formulate support plans that maximise abilities, enable individuals to make choices and to work towards their identified goals, whilst identifying and minimising vulnerability and risks. 
Much of the work involves working in partnership with families and carers, relevant professionals, other agencies and the wider community whilst adhering to all applicable legislation and Aberdeenshire Council policies and procedures, including both statutory and non-statutory requirements.

There is a responsibility for the post holder to demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the Service and the organisation.

Requirements

This post is regulated work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.

This post has a minimum requirement of two references, one of these must be your current or most recent employer.
