Sales Assistant (Christmas Temp)

About The Role

Join us at Poundland during this festive period as a Seasonal Sales Assistant and help make the most magical shopping season of the year even brighter for our customers.

As one of Poundland's Elves on the shop floor, you’ll be a festive ambassador for our brand, creating a warm, welcoming, and merry shopping experience every day.

You’ll be part of a friendly and energetic team, keeping shelves stocked with all those essential items, delivering fantastic customer service, supporting deliveries, ensuring the checkouts run smoothly, and helping maintain a safe, tidy, and cheerful store environment.

We're looking for team players with a positive, can-do attitude and a friendly approach. Good organisation and attention to detail, especially when working on the tills, are essential. Previous retail or customer service experience is a bonus, but not a requirement. We’ll provide all the training you need to help you shine, because every member of our team plays an important part in making this, the most wonderful time of the year, a success.

This role will start soon and last until the end of December, and we may require you to work different shifts based on store needs, therefore flexibility is key.

We offer rewards that go beyond the payslip, including:

• 10% employee discount card with increased discount events over the year.
• Celebrate your birthday, you’ll get an extra day off for your birthday.
• 28 days holiday a year inc banks, rising by one day a year up to 33 days.
• We put wellbeing first through our partnership with Retail Trust which gives you and your family access to a fantastic range of resources.
• My Staff Shop, giving you an amazing number of discounts and shopping vouchers.
• For those unexpected moments, our partnership with a financial wellbeing platform enables you to access up to 50% of your monthly earned wages early, along with savings and financial advice.
• If your role turns permanent with us we have training and development opportunities as we want you to grow your career, be that through one of the qualifications we offer or internal programmes, Sales Assistant can be just the first step.
• Plus, life assurance and people’s pension.

We’re committed and proud to our inclusive culture, and that starts with the recruitment and selection process. If you require a reasonable adjustment during the recruitment process, please do share this with us on your application form and we’ll make every effort to meet your needs.
