About the Role

The successful candidate will teach Science across Key Stages 3 and 4, and potentially Key Stage 5, inspiring students to develop a strong understanding of scientific principles, practical skills, and critical thinking.

Key responsibilities include:

• Planning and delivering engaging Science lessons across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.

• Preparing students for GCSE and A-Level examinations.

• Assessing, monitoring, and reporting on student progress and performance.

• Differentiating lessons to meet the needs of students with varying abilities and learning styles.

• Supporting students requiring additional help through targeted intervention sessions.

• Creating a stimulating classroom environment that encourages curiosity, participation, and independent learning.

• Collaborating with colleagues to develop schemes of work, lesson resources, and best practices.

• Participating in departmental meetings, professional development, and school initiatives.

• Promoting students’ understanding of practical experiments, the scientific method, and real-world applications.

Candidate Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

• Strong subject knowledge in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.

• Excellent classroom management and communication skills.

• Ability to motivate and inspire students to achieve their potential.

• Commitment to supporting students’ academic and personal development.

• Ability to work collaboratively within a supportive department.
