Are you an experienced and highly organised Safeguarding Officer looking for a rewarding role in education? A well-regarded secondary school in North London is seeking a dedicated person to join its pastoral and safeguarding team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a professional with strong safeguarding knowledge, excellent IT skills, and a calm, proactive approach to supporting student welfare in a busy school environment.
Role Overview
You will play a central role in supporting the school’s safeguarding procedures and student welfare systems. You will work closely with senior leaders, pastoral staff, external agencies, and families to ensure safeguarding concerns are managed effectively and appropriately.
This role requires excellent attention to detail, strong administrative capability, and confidence using school systems and safeguarding databases.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the school’s day-to-day safeguarding and child protection procedures
• Maintain accurate and confidential safeguarding records
• Liaise with external agencies, staff, parents, and students
• Monitor safeguarding referrals and follow-up actions
• Support attendance, welfare, and pastoral interventions where required
• Ensure safeguarding systems and documentation remain fully up to date
• Provide first aid support when required
Person Specification
* Previous experience in a Safeguarding Officer, Pastoral, or Welfare role
• Strong understanding of school safeguarding procedures
• Excellent IT knowledge and confidence using digital safeguarding systems
• Valid First Aid certificate essential
• Strong organisational and communication skills
• Professional, discreet, and calm under pressure
• Commitment to student welfare and safeguarding best practice
