Production Assistant/Runner

As a Production Assistant / Runner, you will provide essential support across all areas of Good Morning Britain, helping to ensure the programme is delivered smoothly and efficiently each day. Working closely with editorial, production and technical teams, you will assist with guest coordination, studio operations and general production tasks. The successful candidate will be highly organised, adaptable and able to thrive in a fast-paced live broadcast environment. Please note: this role includes overnight shifts and regular anti-social working hours. Key Responsibilities Production Support: Assist with the day-to-day logistics of the programme, including coordinating guest arrivals and departures, managing paperwork and ensuring equipment and resources are in place. Guest Coordination: Support the Green Room team by welcoming guests, assisting with preparations and ensuring contributors are ready for their scheduled appearances. Administrative Support: Provide general administrative assistance, including maintaining call sheets, updating schedules and processing production paperwork. Runner Duties: Undertake a range of runner responsibilities, including transporting items between departments, setting up and clearing work areas, and maintaining organised studio and green room environments. Studio Operations: Assist with studio requirements as needed, including props, set preparation and other production-related tasks. Health & Safety: Promote and maintain safe working practices, ensuring studio and production areas comply with ITV health and safety standards. Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with production, editorial and technical teams, proactively responding to schedule changes and operational requirements. Problem Solving: Act with initiative and resourcefulness to resolve issues quickly and minimise disruption to live broadcasts. Key Requirements Previous Experience: An understanding of television production gained through a previous runner, assistant or similar role is desirable. However, we also welcome applications from enthusiastic candidates looking to begin a career in the industry. Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships with colleagues, contributors and guests. Organisation & Attention to Detail: Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise effectively and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced live broadcast environment. Resilience Under Pressure: Able to remain calm, focused and efficient when working to tight deadlines and responding to last-minute changes. Teamwork: A collaborative and flexible approach, with a willingness to support different departments and contribute to a positive team culture. Initiative & Problem Solving: Proactive and resourceful, with the confidence to take ownership of tasks and find practical solutions to challenges as they arise. Adaptability: Comfortable working in a dynamic environment and able to respond quickly to changing priorities and production requirements. Technical Awareness: A basic understanding of television production processes or AV equipment would be advantageous but is not essential. Health & Safety Awareness: An understanding of health and safety responsibilities and a commitment to maintaining safe working practices.
