A welcoming and inclusive school in Northumberland is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant - SEN to join their team. This Learning Support Assistant - SEN role is ideal for someone who is passionate about supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and helping them overcome barriers to learning.

The successful Learning Support Assistant - SEN will work closely with teachers, the SENCO and wider support staff to provide tailored 1:1 and small-group support. You will help pupils develop confidence, independence and positive relationships while supporting their academic, social and emotional development.

Key Responsibilities of the Learning Support Assistant - SEN:

* Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEN.

* Supporting pupils with ASD, ADHD, SEMH and other additional needs.

* Assisting with individual support plans and targeted interventions.

* Supporting pupils with their learning, communication and social development.

* Promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.

* Using appropriate behaviour management and de-escalation strategies.

* Adapting learning resources to meet individual pupil needs.

* Working closely with teachers, the SENCO and wider support staff.

* Helping to maintain a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.

The Ideal Learning Support Assistant - SEN Will:

* Have previous experience working with children or young people with SEN.

* Have experience supporting pupils with additional learning, behavioural or emotional needs.

* Be patient, caring, resilient and adaptable.

* Have strong communication and relationship-building skills.

* Be confident providing 1:1 and small-group support.

* Experience supporting pupils with ASD, ADHD, SEMH or behaviours that challenge would be highly advantageous.

* Previous SEN Teaching Assistant or HLTA experience would be an added advantage.

* Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply).

* Have a fully checkable work history.
