Summary

A specialist environmental and arboricultural consultancy, delivering professional services through three core departments: Ecology, Arboriculture, and Landscape Management are looking to hire a Senior Ecologist to work across a wide range of sectors including transport, utilities, local authorities, private companies, architects, and planning consultancies, supporting projects from concept to completion.

Candidates will be remote based and travel between different client sites South of London / South East

As a Senior Ecologist you will lead and deliver ecological services across a range of environmental consultancy projects, with a focus on compliance, biodiversity enhancement, and sustainable development.

You will be responsible for conducting habitat and protected species surveys, including those requiring Natural England licences for European Protected Species (EPS), and preparing detailed ecological assessments and mitigation strategies. This role includes working on infrastructure projects, particularly within the highways sector, ensuring ecological considerations are integrated into design and construction.

The Senior Ecologist also mentors junior staff, liaises with clients and regulators, and contributes to biodiversity net gain, habitat restoration, and ecological planning.

Seeking candidates with:

• 5 Years experience as an Ecologist.
• A relevant degree, ideally a secondary degree or accreditation.
• CEnv/ Full member or Equivalent in CIEEM/IEMA or similar industry accreditation. (Desirable)
• One or more Licences in an EPS specialism. 
• Practical working knowledge of EMS/BNG/BREEAM
• Full UK driving license
• CSCS card, Emergency first aid, Safety Critical Worker Medical

Salary: Circa £42,000 dependant on experience plus benefits package including.

• A company car/van or car allowance of £450 per month will be provided:
• 26 days holiday per year plus bank holidays
