Deputy Manager – Children’s Residential Care
Milton Keynes
£40,000–£45,000 per year
⏰ 40 hours per week
We are recruiting an experienced Deputy Manager to support the Registered Manager with the day-to-day running of a children’s residential home.
As a Deputy Manager, you will:
* Support and deputise for the Registered Manager.
* Lead, supervise and develop the residential care team.
* Lead shifts and support staffing/rotas.
* Safeguard children and young people.
* Ensure high-quality, child-centred residential childcare.
* Support care plans, risk assessments and behaviour plans.
* Manage challenging and complex situations.
* Maintain accurate records and reports.
* Support Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and Ofsted requirements.
* Contribute to audits, quality assurance and service improvement.
* Work with families, social workers and other professionals.
* Participate in management on-call duties where required.
About You
* Experience as a Senior Residential Support Worker, Team Leader, Deputy Manager or similar within children’s residential care.
* Level 3 Residential Childcare / Children & Young People qualification or equivalent.
* Strong safeguarding and child protection knowledge.
* Leadership and team management experience.
* Experience managing risk and challenging situations.
* Good communication, organisation and report-writing skills.
* Full UK driving licence.
Desirable: Level 5 Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare, experience with Ofsted/audits, staff supervision and knowledge of trauma-informed care/PBS.
