To plan, organise, deliver and evaluate professional staff development and training for Social Work and Social Care, particularly in the areas of Children and Adult social work. To contribute to the broader development of the social care workforce by developing and delivering training.
Responsibilities
Identify training priorities in liaison with the social care and social work teams according to statutory requirements and service priorities.
Plan staff development and training programmes to meet identified priorities.
Co-ordinate and deliver training to meet social care and social work requirements and SSSC standards, e.g., child protection and adult safeguarding, risk assessment, supervision, communication skills, etc.
Support the Social Work Training Team Manager, e.g., researching staff development and training programmes for commissioning.
To be involved in the commission and delivery of staff development and training programmes to meet need where appropriate within the service budget provision, as agreed with the Senior Organisational Development Adviser.
Collect and analyse evaluation data for staff development and training programmes and events.
To be involved in the development, design and delivery of Post Registration Training and Learning and Continuous Professional Development for staff in Social Care and Social Work.
Any other related tasks in the training portfolio by arrangement with the Social Work Training Team Manager.
The Individual
Experience in social care, social work or childcare settings.
Experience in developing, delivering, facilitating and evaluating training and assessing the impact of training, learning and development
Professional social work qualification (DipSW/CQSW/BA).
Registration with appropriate professional body
Knowledge of and commitment to work effectively within relevant legislation and practice
Effective assessment and report writing skills
Effective communication and mediation skills
Effective organisational and planning skills
Computer literacy required
Ability to deliver effective training, learning and development programmes at different levels
Good presentation skills
Ability to work effectively with groups of people
You will be expected to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Moray to meet the operational requirements of the service. Due to the rural nature of Moray this is normally undertaken by use of a car/van.

Ability to motivate staff to incorporate learning into their operational practice
Ability to work effectively and positively as part of a team and contribute to service development
Appreciation, acceptance of and commitment to the importance of confidentiality
Ability to make good use of supervision
Ability to work flexibly to meet the needs and demands of the service
Ability to work in an open plan office and from home
Ability to work in different offices and buildings across Moray to provide training
Ability to delivery classroom-based training sessions for sustained periods as required
This post is considered to be a ‘Regulated Role’ under the Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020. Under the Act it is a legal requirement for an individual undertaking a regulated role with children or protected adults to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme.
Therefore, the successful candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check prior to any formal offer of employment being made by Moray Council

Starting Salary: £46,502.95 (pro-rata)
Hourly Rate: £24.67
Hours: 29 hours a week
