Established private dental practices in Wellington and Lower Hutt are seeking a dentist to join their experienced and supportive team. The position will initially be three days per week, with scope to increase to four days as the role develops. An August/September start is planned to allow a supported handover from the departing dentist.

You will step into an established Lower Hutt patient base with an existing recall system from week one. The Wellington clinic offers genuine scope to grow a patient book at a comfortable and sustainable pace, with flexibility to work primarily in Lower Hutt or divide your week between the two locations.

The practices provide general, cosmetic, paediatric and emergency dentistry alongside clear aligners, implant restoration, restorative dentistry and facial aesthetics. Both clinics support digital workflows, with iTero scanners in each room, digital x-rays and new dental chairs, and the practice is Digital Smile Design certified.

You will work alongside experienced dentists, hygienists, dental assistants and reception staff in a calm, patient-focused environment. Support is available for clinicians who would like to develop their confidence and experience with digital dentistry.

Candidates should ideally have at least two years of clinical experience. The practice is looking for a gentle and considered clinician who communicates clearly, involves patients in treatment decisions and values long-term patient relationships and appropriate, ethical care.

Remuneration is commission-based. Transitional income support may be available during the initial handover and patient-book development period, with the exact structure discussed transparently with shortlisted candidates.

Wellington and Lower Hutt offer an excellent combination of city and outdoor lifestyles, with easy access to the waterfront, beaches, walking and cycling trails, alongside Wellington’s restaurants, cafés and cultural attractions.

Candidates must be eligible for registration with the Dental Council of New Zealand (DCNZ). This typically includes dentists qualified in New Zealand, Australia, the UK, Ireland, Canada* or the United States*. Candidates with other qualifications should check their eligibility with the DCNZ before applying.

USA and Canadian qualifications must be from DCNZ recognised accredited dental schools.
