Patient administration underpins the patient journey and supports clinical teams in delivering high quality patient care and can make a real difference to the patient experience.
The post holder has responsibility for the provision of a professional, comprehensive and efficient administration service, which is effectively delivered to all patients and members of the department, this will be through the delivery of a comprehensive administration service.
To be responsible for the day to day activities of staff within the Operational Acute & Emergency Medicine Department.
To ensure staff are provided with the necessary training to undertake the duties of their roles.
To maintain data quality and confidentiality of staff undertaking patient registrations and updating records.
To provide support to the Operational Manager at the Grange University Hospital, Royal Gwen Hospital and Nevill Hall Hospital.
Main duties of the job
COMMUNCIATION
- To maintain effective working relationships with own and other departments.
- To liaise with Consultants, Nursing Staff, Secretaries and patients/families.
- To provide advice, induction and on the job training to staff members. Motivating staff in order to achieve departmental targets and
objectives.
- To be responsible for team to ensure the provision, handling and receipt of complex and sensitive information.
- Undertake regular staff meetings, updating and informing staff of relevant changes within the ABUHB relevant to their work.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
