Attendance Officer - Nottinghamshire - January 2026

A thriving 11–16 academy in Nottinghamshire is seeking a reliable, assertive and compassionate Attendance Officer to join its pastoral team from January 2026 .

The Role

You’ll play a crucial role in improving pupil attendance and punctuality.

Typical duties include:

  • Monitoring attendance data daily via Bromcom / SIMS
  • Making first-day calls and recording reasons for absence
  • Conducting home visits with pastoral staff (as required)
  • Working with Heads of Year on attendance action plans
  • Preparing reports and updates for SLT and external agencies
  • Building trusted relationships with families to support barriers to attendance

You’ll Bring

  • Confidence communicating with families
  • Ability to remain calm, fair and consistent
  • Strong data handling and organisational skills
  • Experience in a school or similar role (preferred)
