This is well-established post which has become available due to service reconfiguration and Consultant moving to another post. We are seeking to appoint Consultants in Old Age Psychiatry to work in Sandwell within the Black Country Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (BCHFT). Main duties of the job
The community mental health teams are based at Edward street hospital. The team has introduced a single point of entry of referrals for the older Adult service. The Team is one of 3 CMHTs providing services to older adults population in the Sandwell town. About us
Older Adult Mental Health Services deliver multidisciplinary inpatient and community care for older adults with mental health conditions, underpinned by a person-centred and holistic model of care. Services operate across all four Black Country localities, with inpatient provision based in Walsall at the Dorothy Pattison Hospital Older Adult Unit, and at the newly refurbished Edward Street Hospital. These units provide specialist care for older adults with a range of mental health conditions, including functional illness and dementia. Exciting new developments include the Older Adult Hospital at Home Team and In-Reach to Care Home Team, enabling assessment and treatment in community settings and supporting admission avoidance where appropriate.
