Senior Consultant Level – Contracts & Risk Management

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Belfast UK&I Consulting Quality Team within EY.

The Quality Team facilitates the adoption and application of the policies, procedures, methods, tools and principles that EY has put in place globally to ensure that services are delivered to a high standard.

Working in the Belfast Team and reporting to the Belfast Team Leader the successful candidate will provide a wide range of support to the Consulting business including operational risk management, compliance and the review of contracting and bid documents.

The candidate will have had exposure to contracts and legal terms and will be able to assist members of the Belfast Team with managing and coordinating tasks and managing stakeholders.

The Team is looking for a confident and motivated achiever with specific professional services and legal sector experience outside of the financial services/AML environment.

The Role

• Assisting in the coordination with supporting teams including Legal, Independence, and Business Resilience.
• Assist in the review, and resolution of contractual and operational risk management related queries including:
  • Business relationships.
  • Liability.
  • Regulatory/Auditor Independence.
  • Data Protection.
  • Third party risk.
  • Terms & Conditions, Confidentiality Agreements and Data Protection.
  • General contracting and sub-contracting principles/practices.
• Assist in reviewing client agreements, Statements of Work, subcontracts, NDAs up to moderate complexity sometimes under direction but in accordance with EY’s contract negotiation guidelines and procedures.
• Address operational risk related issues as they arise invoking appropriate escalation and support functions as required.
• Assist in addressing contract related issues as they arise, with appropriate escalation to Team members, General Counsel and other support functions as required.
• Assist with the development of solutions for the enhancement of Quality processes, practices and contracting.
• Support the deployment of specific Risk Management projects and initiatives.
• Support Team members in relation to ad hoc demands.

The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate:

• A clear understanding of urgency, with an ability to deal with non-complex and moderately complex queries in a timely manner.
• Ability to collaborate with senior Team members and stakeholders from Independence, Risk Management, and the wider Quality Team to assist in moving more complex issues to resolution.
• Ability to be approachable, supportive and responsive. and yet be prepared to use own initiative to break down barriers and overcome challenges.
