Drama Teacher — High-Achieving 11-18 School in Herefordshire

Start Date: September 2026

Contract: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: MPS/UPS, paid to scale

A high-achieving 11-18 school in Herefordshire is seeking a talented Drama Teacher to join its creative Performing Arts faculty. This is an exciting opportunity for a practitioner who enjoys teaching across the full secondary age range and who wants to contribute to a school where the arts are celebrated and well-resourced.

You will teach Drama across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (Eduqas), and contribute to the school's thriving sixth-form performing arts provision, which includes A-level Theatre Studies. The role includes directing or co-directing the school's whole-school production each year, organising theatre trips for students across key stages, and contributing to wider performing arts events such as the school's annual arts festival. You will also be expected to maintain assessment records and support students in preparing thoroughly for performance-based and written examinations.

School Information

This 11-18 school in Herefordshire has built a strong reputation for its arts provision and consistently achieves excellent outcomes for students across all subject areas. The Performing Arts faculty benefits from a purpose-built performance space and a strong tradition of whole-school productions that draw large audiences from the local community. Staff describe a school where teachers are trusted to pursue their professional interests and where leadership is genuinely proud of the school's cultural life.

Requirements

  • Degree in Drama, Theatre Studies, or a related field, and QTS

  • Strong subject knowledge across KS3–5, including A-level Theatre Studies

  • Experience directing youth productions in a school or community setting

  • Good organisational skills, including managing theatre trips and events

  • Enthusiasm for contributing to a busy and ambitious arts programme
