What will you be doing?
You’ll be responsible for supporting the delivery of accurate, timely payroll services for a portfolio of clients, working across the full payroll cycle.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Processing high volumes of payroll data accurately and to strict deadlines
- Calculating net pay and ensuring payrolls are processed correctly
- Preparing and communicating HMRC payments to clients
- Supporting BACS submissions and ensuring employees are paid correctly and on time
- Balancing payrolls and producing month and year-end reports
- Processing RTI submissions including FPS, EPS, P45s and P46s
- Managing HMRC and pension provider downloads, including tax codes and Student Loan notices
- Supporting auto-enrolment processes and liaising with pension providers
- Keeping payroll records accurate, secure and up to date
- Keeping on top of changes to payroll legislation and PAYE requirements
- Liaising with HMRC, DWP and other relevant bodies
- Developing your understanding of CIS and associated deadlines
About you
Previous payroll bureau experience is essential. You’ll ideally have 2+ years’ experience working within a payroll bureau or accountancy practice , managing payroll for multiple clients rather than solely processing payroll for one employer.
You’ll be confident managing different payrolls, client requirements and deadlines, with a strong understanding of payroll processes and a genuine focus on delivering excellent client service.
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Experienced in a payroll bureau environment , ideally with 2+ years’ experience
- Used to processing payroll for multiple clients with different requirements and deadlines
- Highly organised and able to manage multiple payrolls and competing deadlines
- Accurate and detail-focused, with a strong understanding of payroll processes
- Confident communicating directly with clients and colleagues
- Positive, proactive and able to use their initiative
- Comfortable working under pressure, particularly around payroll deadlines
- A genuine team player who is equally happy working independently
- Passionate about providing a high level of client service
- Keen to learn, develop and progress within a payroll bureau environment
