Inclusion Support Worker
Salary: £19,000 - £21,000 per annum
Hours: 32.5 hours per week, Term Time Only
Contract: Permanent
Start Date: ASAP / September
Location: Leeds, LS11
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Inclusion Support Worker to join a committed inclusion team. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people by helping to remove barriers to learning, promote inclusion, and support pupils to achieve their full potential.
Working closely with teachers, senior leaders, families, and external professionals, you will play a key role in supporting pupils with additional needs, encouraging engagement with education, and helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
As an Inclusion Support Worker, you will:
Support pupils to overcome barriers to learning and access education successfully
Assist in assessing pupils' needs and contribute to the development of individual support plans
Work collaboratively with teachers, families, and external agencies to promote pupil achievement and wellbeing
Monitor and record pupil progress, providing accurate feedback and reports to relevant staff
Build positive relationships with pupils and families to encourage engagement and participation in education
Support the delivery of targeted interventions and learning activities
Prepare and use specialist resources and equipment to meet individual pupil needs
Maintain professional records and casework notes relating to individual pupils
Promote a positive, inclusive, and child-centred approach to learning and development
Contribute to staff development by sharing knowledge and supporting best practice in inclusion and SEND
Ensure compliance with safeguarding, health and safety, confidentiality, and data protection requirements
Administer medication in line with school policies when required
The Perfect Candidate Will Have
Experience supporting children and young people's learning, development, and progress
Experience working with or caring for children of a relevant age group
A strong understanding of child development and learning
The ability to build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues
Excellent teamwork and communication skills
Confidence using ICT and educational technology, including laptops, iPads, and classroom equipment
A commitment to promoting inclusion, equality, and pupil wellbeing
The ability to remain professional, resilient, and adaptable in a range of situations
Essential Qualifications
GCSE English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent)
Training in relevant learning strategies and interventions
Training to support pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) or relevant classroom-based experience
First Aid qualification or training
Experience supporting SEND pupils within an educational setting
A commitment to continuous professional development and learning
