About this role

About BlackRock

Elevate your career by joining the world's largest asset manager! Would you thrive in an environment that fosters positive relationships and recognizes outstanding performance? We know how important it is to feel valued every single day and be recognized for your contribution. At BlackRock, we strive to empower our employees and effectively engage your involvement in our success. With over $12 trillion of assets, we have an outstanding responsibility: our technology and services empower millions of investors to save for retirement, pay for college, buy a home, and improve their financial well-being.

Job Purpose/ Background

The GFDS EMEA Change Solutions team is part of Global Fund Distribution Services (GFDS) within BlackRock's Business Operations Services division and has responsibility for defining, shaping, and delivering strategic change initiatives across the EMEA region.

The team partners closely with Transfer Agency Services (TAS) and Fund Distribution Operations (FDO) to drive the evolution of their operating models, ensuring they are scalable, efficient, and aligned with regulatory requirements and client expectations. This includes managing change related to product innovation, distribution, regulation and platform transformation, while supporting the development of robust oversight and servicing frameworks. The team plays a central role in enabling GFDS to deliver on its strategic priorities through coordinated, outcome-focused change execution, working across business, technology, and external partners.

GFDS is undergoing a multi-year transformation to modernise its operating model, enhance scalability, and support new product innovation and market expansion, with an increasing focus on digital platforms, automation, and emerging capabilities such as digital assets.

We are seeking a senior change leader to join the Change Solutions team, responsible for owning and delivering complex, high-impact transformation initiatives across TAS, FDO, and associated platform capabilities. The role combines end-to-end program and project ownership, operating model design, and delivery leadership, ensuring initiatives deliver measurable business outcomes, risk reduction, and scalable solutions. This includes supporting growth in digital, data, and AI-enabled capabilities, as well as evolving digital asset infrastructure.

The individual will operate with a high degree of autonomy, partnering across business, technology, product, and external stakeholders to shape, structure, and execute complex changes in a fast-paced and evolving environment.

We place a strong emphasis on empowering and developing our people, enhancing leadership and delivery capability, and broadening firm and industry knowledge. Projects and roles are assigned not only based on delivery needs but also aligned to individual development objectives and career progression. The team will embrace your skills, curiosity, and drive, while providing the opportunity to grow professionally in a dynamic and high-impact environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional and virtual teams to deliver complex, high-impact strategic initiatives, including client, technology, regulatory, and commercial transformation
  • Own end-to-end program and project delivery, including scope definition, governance, execution, and achievement of measurable business outcomes
  • Develop and manage delivery plans with clear milestones, dependencies, and success metrics; drive consensus and communicate progress and outcomes to senior stakeholders through structured reporting and insights
  • Ensure delivery is executed in a controlled, timely, and risk-aware manner, proactively identifying and resolving issues, dependencies, and roadblocks
  • Drive the design and implementation of scalable operating models, supporting the evolution of TAS, FDO, and associated platform capabilities
  • Identify and implement improvements to business processes, data, and technology solutions, with a strong focus on risk management, control, and efficiency
  • Partner across business, technology, product, and external providers to shape and deliver digital, data, automation, and AI-enabled solutions, supporting future-ready operating models
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across the firm, effectively navigating organisational complexity and influencing decision-making
  • Simplify complex topics and challenges into clear, actionable insights, developing high-quality materials to support senior decision-making
  • Develop deep domain knowledge across GFDS, with the ability to present complex data and information to inform delivery and strategy
  • Promote and embed best practice in change delivery, including governance, Agile and hybrid methodologies, and continuous improvement
About you

  • 10+ years of experience in asset management or financial services, with a strong track record of delivering complex, enterprise-level change initiatives
  • Strong understanding of asset management operating models, including middle- and back-office functions, with knowledge of Transfer Agency and/or Fund Distribution
  • Exposure to digital assets, digital platforms, or emerging financial market infrastructure desirable, with a willingness to build knowledge and capability in this area
  • Demonstrated ability to lead large, complex projects or programs end-to-end, delivering measurable business outcomes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present clearly and confidently to senior stakeholders
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with experience building consensus across cross-functional teams
  • Proven ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-profile, and evolving environment, managing multiple priorities
  • Highly developed project and program management capabilities, with a focus on structured delivery, governance, and control
  • Strong collaboration skills, with experience working across business, technology, and external partners
  • Ability to simplify complex topics and distil sophisticated information into clear, actionable insights
  • Intellectual curiosity and a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset, with a strong focus on delivering results
  • Strong attention to detail, with a high standard of quality and ownership
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence, inspire, and motivate others
  • High degree of flexibility, autonomy, and willingness to learn, with the ability to adapt quickly to new challenges and environments
  • Strong MS Office skills, including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and collaboration tools
Manager comments

  • Ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy, balancing independent delivery with effective stakeholder engagement and alignment
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity, shifting priorities, and complex environments, bringing a pragmatic, solutions-oriented approach to problem solving
  • Demonstrates strong ownership, resilience, and a delivery-focused mindset, with the ability to drive outcomes in a fast-paced and evolving environment
Our benefits

To help you stay energized, engaged and inspired, we offer a wide range of employee benefits including: retirement investment and tools designed to help you in building a sound financial future; access to education reimbursement; comprehensive resources to support your physical health and emotional well-being; family support programs; and Flexible Time Off (FTO) so you can relax, recharge and be there for the people you care about.
