The Role

• Teaching Design & Technology across KS3 and KS4, with KS5 depending on specialism

• Delivering engaging practical and theory-based lessons that develop design thinking

• Supporting pupils with NEA, coursework, and examination preparation

• Promoting creativity, technical precision, and problem-solving skills

• Ensuring workshop health & safety compliance and risk assessment procedures

• Monitoring pupil progress and implementing targeted strategies to raise attainment

• Contributing to curriculum development and departmental planning

• Supporting enrichment activities such as STEM initiatives or design competitions

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

• A degree in Design & Technology or a related discipline

• Experience teaching DT at secondary level

• Strong workshop knowledge and health & safety awareness

• High expectations for pupil engagement and achievement

• A proactive, organised, and collaborative teaching approach
