Job purpose: DTA & Co. is looking for a Trainee Bookkeeper to join our growing team, based in Falkirk. We’re a modern practice using cloud-based technology to provide our clients with a range of services to suit their needs. We take a proactive approach to working with our clients and like to keep in regular contact to make sure we’re doing all we can to help them manage their business efficiently and effectively.
This role is initially for a Modern Apprenticeship in Bookkeeping for 12 months. You will be enrolled with AAT and you will study Level 6 Certificate in Accounting. You will be fully supported by Babington our external training provider.
Responsibilities –
· Processing of sales and purchase invoices
· Reconciliation of sales and purchase ledgers
· Bank reconciliations
· Preparation of VAT returns for manager review
· Month End Reporting
· Preparation of MTD for income Tax returns for manager review
· Working alongside the senior Bookkeeper
· Answer all telephone calls and reception enquiries in a polite and timely manner.
What will I learn? After completion of the initial Modern Apprenticeship, for the right candidate there will be the opportunity to progress to train as an Accountant with full study support via AAT and Babington, this would be for a further two years.
The role is a great opportunity for a school leaver who has an interest in becoming an Accountant but does not wish to go to university.
In this role, you will learn a range of skills and work towards becoming a bookkeeper.

· Min 3 Highers
· One being Accounting, NAT 5 will be considered.
· Strong IT skills.
· Ambitious
· Someone who likes responsibility and providing a great customer service.
