Deputy Manager - Puddleducks Day Nursery The role of the Deputy Manager is to assist the Manager in the day-to-day running of the Nursery, including general administration duties, managing the staff and the building, and organizing/implementing a stimulating and varied program of age appropriate activities for the children in the nursery in line with the High/Scope approach.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and evaluate the quality of care and education and liaise with the manger in setting targets for improvement.
• Responsible for organizing and implementing a stimulating and varied program of age appropriate activities which ensure the needs of each individual child are met.
• You will, in the absence of the Nursery Manager, act up reporting to Head of Community Services and report on all matters concerning the care of children and the running of the nursery.

• Ensure high standards of quality regarding a positive environment, resources for children, experiences and care offered to the children, which promotes their well-being, self-esteem and development including planning.
• Assist the manager in monitoring and reviewing the effectiveness of the Nursery’s policies and procedures and help develop new ones when required for effective service delivery.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• Level 5 CCLD Qualification
• At least 2 years’ experience in the management and support of staff and trainees in a day nursery setting
• At least 2 years Early Years practice in a day nursery setting with children aged 0-5 years including additional needs care.
• The Right to Work in the UK
