Join Antrim & Newtownabbey Borough Council as a Waste Management Operative in Newtownabbey and play a key role in supporting essential environmental and waste services within the local community. About the role: £13.26 per hour plus shift allowance 37 hours per week (including weekends) 6 months pending review Public Sector Please note closing date for applications is Friday 24th July 2026 at 10 am. Responsibilities
- Your main focus will be to assist in the collection of waste (residual & recyclable waste/resource) from the kerbside, street cleansing, and Household Recycling Centre.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
- Minimum of 6 months previous relevant work experience in a waste environment.
- Basic literacy, ability to read instructions and communications.
- Computer literate (to use TMS for holidays/GPS)
- Working knowledge of health and safety procedures including manual handling and assisting driver whilst reversing.
- Knowledge of waste collection/disposal and recycling issues and Traffic management.
£13.55 - £18.36 per hour
