Caretaker - Secondary School, Sheffield
Our client is seeking a reliable and conscientious Caretaker to join a well-established secondary school in Sheffield . This is a full-time position starting in April 2026 , supporting the safety, security, and day-to-day maintenance of the school site.
Caretaker required on a full-time basis
Large secondary school with well-maintained facilities
Varied role supporting buildings and grounds
Supportive and collaborative leadership team
The successful Caretaker will work as part of the premises team to ensure the site remains safe, clean, and welcoming throughout the school day.
Key Responsibilities
• Opening and securing the school premises
• Carrying out routine maintenance and minor repairs
• Monitoring alarms, CCTV, and site security
• Completing health and safety and fire safety checks
• Supporting contractors and site works
• Maintaining external areas and general site appearance
• Assisting with exam setups and school events
Experience and Qualifications
• Previous caretaking or facilities experience preferred
• Practical DIY and maintenance skills
• Awareness of health and safety requirements
• Reliable, flexible, and proactive approach
• Legal right to work in the UK
