About the Role

Connex Education is working with a primary school in Upton seeking a Teaching Assistant to support in Year 3 classroom. A solid working knowledge of the Key Stage 2 curriculum is essential, as well as experience with children with SEN and behaviour that challenges.

To be successful in this role, you should have experience supporting children with additional needs and managing challenging behaviour. A nurturing, calm and patient approach is key.

This three-form entry junior school is a warm, inclusive, community-focused setting with high expectations for all. Staff work collaboratively to provide a supportive learning environment where children are encouraged to develop confidence, resilience, and a love of learning, underpinned by strong values and positive relationships.

Assignment Details

This is a full-time position, Monday – Friday. This role will begin ASAP in September 2026 and continue until end of the academic year (July 2027) for the right person.

Person Specification

Qualifications

• A Level 2/3 teaching assistant qualification is desirable; however, those with relevant school experience will also be considered.
• GCSE English & Maths (Grade C/4 or above for both) or equivalent Level 2.
• Current DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for a new one through Connex.

• Awareness of safeguarding, confidentiality, and professional boundaries in a school setting.
