Senior Craftsperson

About the role

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Craftsperson to support the delivery of temporary plumbing installations across Balfour Beatty Construction Services UK projects nationwide. This is a hands‑on, site‑based role working on varied projects, where safety, quality and teamwork are at the heart of everything you do.

The role is UK‑wide , will involve travel to live construction sites , and may include working away from home depending on project requirements. What you'll be doing

• Delivering temporary plumbing installations across construction sites
• Working safely and in line with Risk Assessments, Method Statements, Task Briefings and Toolbox Talks
• Promoting Balfour Beatty’s Values , Zero Harm , and Right First Time culture
• Identifying hazards and implementing effective site controls
• Ensuring all tools, plant and equipment are suitable, compliant and well maintained
• Monitoring workmanship and supporting quality standards across installations
• Assisting with QA activities, including using BIM Field 360
• Supporting sustainability and environmental objectives on site
• Highlighting additional works, variations and future site requirements
• Liaising with supervisors, engineers, subcontractors and site teams

Who we're looking for

Essential

• Experience in temporary plumbing installations
• Solid understanding of health & safety legislation
• CSCS card and a full UK driving licence
• Ability to communicate safe systems of work clearly
• Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
• A proactive approach with the ability to work on your own initiative
• Flexibility to work unsociable hours, nights or weekends when required

Desirable

• Experience delivering high‑quality plumbing installations on live construction sites
• Solution‑focused mindset with the ability to work to tight deadlines
• Experience taking ownership of works from start to finish, including handover
• Fully qualified Plumber or Mechanical Fitter, with an interest in progressing to Appointed Person (AP) level
