Great Oaks School is a secondary special school for pupils with learning difficulties in Southampton.
Due to continued expansion, we require Bank Special School Support Assistants to work across the school with individuals and small groups covering staff absence.
The work will include supporting the learning of the young people under the direction of a teacher and helping to meet the personal care needs of the pupils in the school.
Some experience of working with children in a school or care setting in a paid or voluntary capacity is essential. Experience of working with children with SEN is useful but not essential, as training will be given.
Great Oaks is part of the Specialist Schools Trust, comprising of Great Oaks and Rosewood Special Schools. Great Oaks has three sites across the City.
Please see the school website for more details about the school. Please upload your application form through the TES application process.
If you are interested in exploring working with young people with SEND or can't commit to regular full-time hours bank work may be the ideal way in for you.
Closing Date: 18th December 2026
The Specialist Schools Trust are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our learners and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We will ensure that all our recruitment and selection practices reflect this commitment. All successful candidates will be subject to Disclosure and Barring Service checks along with Social Media checks.
