Ground Supervisor/Charge-Hand

37.5 hours

We’re looking for a motivated and reliable individual to join our Ground Teamat Ayr Racecourse, Scotland’s Premier Racecourse. This is a full-time role (39.5 hours per week), ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors and takes pride in maintaining high standards.

The Role:
You’ll be responsible for carrying out a wide range of duties in preparation for racedays and other major events, as well as day-to-day ground maintenance.

Key responsibilities include:

Carry Out Duties & Meeting Timelines Provided By Clerk Of The Course

Manage Day To Day Running Of Staff

Manage Some Record Keeping

Be willing To Carry Out Training Provided

Turf and ground maintenance

Preparation of the course and surrounding areas for racedays and events

Mowing, weed control, hedge cutting and trimming

General upkeep of outdoor areas

Working independently and as part of a team

Adhering to health and safety standards at all times

What we’re looking for:

A positive, motivated attitude

Experience or interest in turf management

Enjoys working outdoors in all conditions

Ability to work both solo and within a team

Full UK driving licence (preferred)

Good knowledge of health and safety in the workplace

Qualifications:

Qualifications in turf management are preferred but not essential

PA1 and PA6 spraying certificates preferred but not essential
