Professional Support Lawyer - Pensions

BCL Legal is working with a leading national law firm seeking to recruit a Professional Support Lawyer (PSL) to join its highly regarded pensions team. The Role Pensions remains a technically demanding and strategically important area of law, and our client is keen to speak with experienced pensions lawyers interested in a knowledge-focused role that is instrumental to the team's continued growth and success. This is a specialist PSL position, and the successful candidate will support the pensions team by managing and delivering high-value knowledge services, helping ensure legal and market developments are reflected in client advice, and driving thought leadership initiatives. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to transition from a fee-earning role or an experienced PSL seeking a fresh challenge in a collaborative and forward-thinking team. Location- Birmingham The role can be based in any of the firm's pensions team offices. There is flexibility on location for the right candidate. The Team The pensions team forms part of the firm's Advisory Services Division, which provides commercial legal advice to a wide client base including corporates, financial institutions, pension trustees, public sector bodies, charities, and SMEs. Nationally recognised, the pensions team is ranked Band 2 in Chambers & Partners and is driven by the ambition to achieve Band 1 status. The team currently comprises 6 partners, 6 legal advisers, a trainee, and a dedicated PSL who joined in 2021. Key Responsibilities Monitoring and analysing legal and regulatory developments relevant to pensions law Creating and updating internal knowledge resources, precedents, and toolkits Producing client-facing training, updates, and briefings Leading or contributing to external thought leadership content Supporting business development initiatives and strengthening intermediary relationships The Firm This is a firm known for its client focus, commercial mindset, and inclusive culture.
