Information Analyst Specialist

Temporary, Full-time

As part of this transformation, NSS and NES have joined to form a new organisation: Public Services Delivery Scotland (PSD Scotland). This new organisation will play a pivotal role in supporting the renewal and ensuring the long-term sustainability of health and care services across Scotland.

About the Organisation:

PSD Scotland unites expertise from NES and NSS in a way that will allow us to accelerate national programmes to support the NHS to deliver better care, now and in the future.

We support staff with education and training, provide the tools and data that improve services, and run vital national functions such as procurement, logistics and blood, tissue and cell services.

The Post:

The National Procurement Strategic Business Unit (SBU) provides a complete range of procurement, services and expert advice across its portfolio of activity to a range of stakeholders including Health Boards, Scottish Government and the wider public sector.

The Technology Services department is responsible for providing strategic direction and leadership for IT developments within the SBU. It is also responsible for leading, managing and directing the implementation of eProcurement technologies for customers in Health, Scottish Government and the wider public sector. The department is recognised as the Centre of Expertise and is the NHS Scotland focal point for technology services in relation to Purchase to Pay (P2P) solutions.

The Technology Services Data Analyst will play a pivotal role in enabling data driven procurement decisions by delivering accurate, timely, and actionable insights. This role directly supports PSD Scotland in achieving better patient outcomes and greater value for money across the NHS. By developing robust data visualisation tools and analytics solutions, the analyst will empower stakeholders to make more informed, strategic decisions.

This role is key to the delivery of the SBU's strategic outcomes in relation to improvement, service transformation, IT development and Procurement Reform and the implementation of technology programmes across NHS Scotland. It is also critical in the development of the SBU as a centre of expertise.

You should hold a degree within relevant subject or professional accreditation in a technical, business or similar discipline, or equivalent experience. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets and translate them into actionable insights is essential, as is proficiency in data tool such as Microsoft Excel (advanced),SQL for querying databases and data visualisation tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)

The work pattern is Monday to Friday, 36 hours per week.
