The Role
London Business School are looking for a compassionate, knowledgeable and highly organised Student Wellbeing Advisor to support students with disabilities, mental health conditions, Specific Learning Differences and wider wellbeing needs.
This is an important role within Student Wellbeing Services. You will provide professional, specialist and confidential support to students, helping them access appropriate adjustments, guidance and services so they can engage fully with their studies and academic progression.
Working closely with colleagues across the School, you will support the delivery and development of student wellbeing and disability services in line with the University Mental Health Charter, the Equality Act 2010, GDPR and relevant safeguarding procedures.
Main Responsibilities
Provide specialist, confidential one-to-one advice and guidance to students with disabilities, mental health conditions or Specific Learning Differences.
Assess students’ needs and determine suitable reasonable adjustments to support learning and academic progression.
Signpost and refer students to appropriate specialist support services where required.
Provide practical advice, guidance and signposting to students experiencing mental health or wellbeing challenges.
Undertake initial assessments and refer students to counselling and other sources of support where necessary.
Support the development, delivery and coordination of Student Wellbeing Services in line with the University Mental Health Charter and the Equality Act 2010.
Liaise with the Student Association and student representatives to promote and develop wellbeing initiatives and events.
Who We Are Looking For
Knowledge of current principles, theory and practice relating to mental health, wellbeing, neurodivergence and disability.
Experience working in higher education, disability services or wellbeing services.
Understanding of student wellbeing and the needs of a diverse student population.
Knowledge of the University Mental Health Charter.
Experience working with Student Associations and/or student representatives.
Experience handling telephone and email enquiries and working with students and staff at all levels.
Experience coordinating individual support across a range of services.
Strong customer-service orientation and a student-centred approach.
Excellent listening, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Excellent organisational skills, meticulous attention to detail and the ability to manage time and work autonomously.
Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and the ability to use bespoke systems.
Knowledge of relevant legislative frameworks, including the Equality Act 2010, GDPR and reasonable adjustments.
Knowledge of the range of support and funding available to disabled students in higher education.
Ability to identify and apply good practice and evidence from across the higher education sector to support service improvement.

At London Business School, we support Smart Working - a hybrid approach designed to help you achieve a healthy work-life balance while delivering the best outcomes for your role and the needs of our customers. All roles require a minimum of two days on campus each week to foster a vibrant, collaborative community.
For this role specifically, you will be expected to be on campus 3 days per week.
We operate with ‘core hours’ – 10:00-15:00 – to maximise opportunities for connection and collaboration across teams during the working day. Outside of these hours, you may still be required for meetings or collaboration based on your role and customer needs. Additionally, we offer Protected Time - a flexible, one-hour slot, within the working week dedicated to your learning and development, wellbeing, or focused, quiet work
