Support Worker RSAP

Location: Warrant House with travel across Liverpool community

Salary: £30,000 per annum

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday 

Job Type:  Fixed Term – 12 months

Why this role would be great for you

This is a community-based role supporting people within their own homes across Liverpool. You will manage a caseload across Liverpool delivering one-to-one support, welfare checks, support planning, and risk assessments in residents’ homes and local communities.

Due to the travel required between properties throughout the working day, a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential for this role.

What your week may look like

• Welcoming new residents, completing inductions, and identifying immediate support needs.
• Ensuring residents understand their rights, responsibilities, and obligations.
• Delivering person-centred support tailored to individual goals and aspirations.
• Completing regular key work sessions using a reflective, strengths-based approach.
• Developing and reviewing support plans.
• Conducting risk assessments and maintaining accurate records on MainStay and DAVE.
• Supporting residents to prepare for independent living.
• Working with partner agencies and professionals.
• Responding appropriately to safeguarding concerns, complaints, and disclosures.
• Managing buildings health and safety and compliance through regular audits.
• Managing your own diary and appointments for one-to-one support
• Adhere to the Lone Working Policy ensuring safe lone working within the community

The skills we are looking for:

• Experience in homelessness, housing support, tenancy management, or supporting vulnerable people.
• At least one year of experience supporting vulnerable adults or young people.
• Knowledge of mental health, safeguarding, substance misuse, and support planning.
• Excellent communication, IT, assessment, and report-writing skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage a varied caseload.

What is a nice to have

• Qualification in Mental Health, Substance Misuse, or Welfare Rights.
• Experience supporting young people aged 18–25.
• Knowledge of the CAT framework and harm reduction approaches.
• At least 1 years’ experience of working with vulnerable adults and a working knowledge of Resettlement, support planning, welfare rights, benefits advice, mental health issues, offending, drug and alcohol misuse, harm reduction, working with partner agencies and safeguarding.
• A working knowledge of providing intensive support to vulnerable client groups.
• A working knowledge of Health & Safety issues
• A clear understanding of complex needs support issues such as mental health, homelessness, substance misuse and offending
• Knowledge of safeguarding protocols
• Understanding of how to work alongside behaviours that we may find challenging.
• Knowledge of support planning and models of change
• Experience of co coordinating three-way meetings
• Experience of directly working with young people.
• Hold a full driving license and have access to a vehicle.
• Computer literate, competent in working with Microsoft word, outlook, windows.
• The ability to conduct comprehensive and accurate risk assessments.
• To provide effective and consistent support planning with the people we support
• Excellent IT, communication, interpersonal, interviewing and assessment skills.
• Excellent administration skills and the ability to accurately and concisely record information and write reports.
• Plan and deliver workshops and training sessions to residents, staff and partner agencies.
• Demonstrate creativity in overcoming obstacles and a commitment to working with and providing support to vulnerable people.
• Ability and willingness to work unsupervised.
• Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
• Committed to improving the lives of people with complex needs.
• Committed to own personal development and CPD planning.
• Creative and dynamic approach with the ability to “think outside of the box” when providing solutions.
