Salary Scale: £92 - £115 per day (Depending on experience) Are you a compassionate and resilient Mental Health Support Worker committed to helping young people overcome barriers to learning and achieve positive outcomes? GSL Education Hull Branch are currently searching for a Mental Health Support Worker to work within a specialist and inclusive educational setting in York. We are looking for a dedicated, empathetic, and proactive individual who is passionate about supporting students with social, emotional, mental health, and additional learning needs, enabling them to thrive both academically and personally. Mental Health Support Worker Role: The successful Mental Health Support Worker will work alongside teachers, pastoral teams, and other professionals to provide tailored emotional and behavioural support for students. We are looking to recruit a Mental Health Support Worker who can build trusting relationships, promote emotional wellbeing, and help create a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment. Mental Health Support Worker Responsibilities: * Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with social, emotional, and mental health needs
* Encourage positive behaviour, emotional resilience, and healthy coping strategies within the school environment
* Support students with SEND, SEMH, Autism, ADHD, and other additional needs to engage successfully in learning
* Work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to implement individual support and behaviour plans
* Monitor student wellbeing, maintain accurate records, and report safeguarding concerns in line with school procedures
* Promote a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment that supports students' personal, social, and academic development Mental Health Support Worker Requirements: * Previous experience working with children or young people in mental health, education, youth work, social care, or a similar support role is highly desirable
* Knowledge of SEMH, SEND, Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, and trauma-informed approaches is advantageous
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills
* A patient, calm, resilient, and compassionate approach to supporting young people with complex needs
* A strong understanding of safeguarding, confidentiality, and child protection procedures
